INNOMED
Project duration 2023-2025
Project website https://nuct.edu.jo/innomed/
Short description
The purpose of the research project is to pool resources and strengthen collaboration among enterprises and Higher Education Institutions with a view to developing courses on Advanced Green Energy Technologies for Green Buildings also considering possible climate change impact, by means of adaptive learning and teaching methods. INNOMED will also promote regional collaboration by delivering courses which can be accepted and delivered by all interested stakeholders in the region. Through virtual classes employing fresh learning methodologies and pedagogical approaches, young students from various countries in the region (including rural districts) will communicate, become actively involved and benefit from distance learning practices. Target groups include Mechanical Engineers, Environmental Engineers, Chemical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Architectural Engineers, and Agriculture Engineers.

Evaluation of Energy Systems
Measurements, energy assessment and design optimization of cooling systems.
Evaluation of Heating-Cooling System designed by HEPTAPOLIS GREEN ENERGY SOLUTIONS LTD
Measurements, energy assessment and design optimization of Heptapolis cooling system.
Project duration 2018
Short description
The project involved the experimental investigation of a terminal cooling device which provides cooling inside residential and office spaces. In parallel, the TRNSYS simulation program was utilized to investigate the possibility of integrating this system into buildings throughout Greece.
NRG4CAST
Project duration 2012-2015
Project website www.nrg4cast.org
Short description
Design and installation of smart meters in the buildings of NTUA’s Zografou Campus to record and control energy consumption across NTUA premises as well as develop the software to predict energy consumption in tertiary sector buildings.
REAL-SKILLS-EUROPE
Project duration 2008-2012
Project website http://www.realskillseurope.eu/
Short description
Energy and environmental impact of refrigerant leakage. Common leakage types. Leakage prevention and mitigation. Leakage detection equipment. Development of educational platform to train and evaluate technicians involved in the maintenance and construction of refrigeration facilities, in accordance with European directives.
Thermographic analysis of school building
Project duration 2011
Short description
Thermographic analysis of the building shell of the Grava School Complex. The project involved a brief energy audit of the seven Grava School Complexes and parallel thermographic imaging of all building structural systems to detect heat losses.
Energy assessment of office building
Project duration 2009
Short description
Energy Study of the building facilities of the Piraeus Police Directorate within the framework of a Public and Private Partnership. Suitable shell materials were selected in accordance with the requirements of the regulations and instructions of the State Real Estate Service and the Technical Chamber of Greece (T.E.E.). Sunshade installation on selected glass panes of the building was also evaluated. In addition, the study investigated the type of planted roof that to be installed on the building as well as its contribution to the improvement of the thermal behavior of the building. The most suitable places for placing photovoltaic elements were identified also calculating their efficiency. Finally, the study evaluated the economic performance of conventional central air conditioning systems in comparison with their low energy consumption counterparts.
Evaluation of planted roof on office building
Project duration 2008-2010
Short description The study evaluated the thermal behaviour of the planted roof of the building of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (5-7, Nikis str. – Syntagma) by both thermographic analysis and simulation, also considering electricity and oil consumption. The aim of the study was to evaluate the performance of the planted roof one year after its installation.
