❄️ World Refrigeration Day 2026 | Cool Intelligence

The Applied Thermodynamics Laboratory invites students, researchers, engineers, professionals and industry representatives to World Refrigeration Day 2026, which will take place on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, at the Events Hall of the NTUA Administration Building, Zografou Campus.

This year’s central theme, “Cool Intelligence”, highlights the critical role of refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pumps, energy efficiency and digital technologies in the sustainable transition, public health, industry and modern infrastructure.

The scientific programme will bring together representatives from academia, professional and scientific bodies, the market and industry, offering a broad discussion on the present and future of cooling technologies. Key topics include cooling as critical infrastructure, heat pumps and the European transition, energy efficiency and sustainability, the new F-Gas regulatory framework, natural refrigerants, digitalisation, BMS systems and smart monitoring of cooling installations.

The event will also focus on real-world applications across the pharmaceutical sector, data centers, food refrigeration, retail cold chain and logistics, underlining the importance of cooling for safety, reliability, resilience and sustainability.

As part of the event, a parallel workshop entitled “Next Gen Cooling Innovation” will also take place, focusing on sustainable cooling technologies and modern technical approaches for the next generation of refrigeration systems.

Participation is in person only and registration is required through the official form:
